Executives for the neutral electronic transaction platform, INTTRA , announced that the software and information provider has expanded its ocean carrier network recently.
Contributing to what the company calls “significant growth,” was the adding of four new carriers, including Evergreen Marine Corporation – one of the largest global container players.
More than 60 carriers – including all of the top 10 as compiled the consultancy Alphaliner – are in league with INTTRA now.
Inna Kuznetsova, INTTRA's President and COO, told SCMR in an interview that even in the event of more carrier consolidations INTTRA will be able to provide for business continuity and retention of shippers.
“Over the past years, we have gone through a large number of such situations,” she said. “Carriers may consolidate, but our volumes rose as digital transactions increased, and our bookings grew to 45 million containers in 2017, up 12% from the previous year. Furthermore, we grew the number of INTTRA shipping lines by 20% by adding carriers.”
“The continuing growth of INTTRA’s carrier network signals the rapid adoption of digitalization across the industry,” said spokesmen. “
Albert Saphir, president of Bradenton, Fla.-based ABS Consulting told SCMR in an interview that shippers and forwarders are becoming increasingly reliant on this kind of seamless interface.
“GTNexus has also done a good job with carrier integration, but INTTRA remains well focused with ocean carriers.”
INTTRA added the following new carriers:
- Namsung Shipping, which provides shipping services throughout Asia, targeting Korea to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Intra-Asia routes.
- Unifeeder, the largest and best connected feeder and shortsea platform in Europe.
- Antillean Marine Shipping, servicing Miami to Port-Au-Prince, Cap-Haïtien, Puerto Plata, and Rio Haina, as well as Intra-Island routes between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, intends to offer services over INTTRA’s network by summer.
- The carriers will be available on INTTRA upon completion of integration.
